Veterans' Stories Supporting Veterans

The RSA motto is "People Helping People" well in the case of Palmerston North author Rachel Johnson's book Journey into the Past it is a case of "Veterans' Stories Helping Veterans".

Journney into the Past tells the service lives of five men and one woman who have served in wartime, and also of a woman who was an evacuee during the war.

Two of the men saw service in Vietnam. Another one tells the story of being a meteorologist who served with the RAF in Egypt before emigrating to New Zealand and serving as a meteorologist at Ohakea. Another veteran was in the army and served on Fanning Island before retuurning home to help entertain the troops. One was a gunner on merchant navy ships. One of the women was anursing sister in the Manchester Hosipital when it was bombed.

All money raised from the sales of the book will assist the welfare of servicemen and women.
