The Organisation

The organisation consists of affiliated local Returned and Services’ Associations.

Each independent of one another, but loyal to the objects and resolutions of the Royal New Zealand Returned and Services’ Association.

RNZRSA is responsible for promoting and supporting local RSAs throughout New Zealand, and also for representing New Zealand ex-servicemen and women internationally through membership of the Royal Commonwealth Ex-Services League.

There are also a number of kindred ex-service associations in New Zealand, which are affiliated to RNZRSA.

Many local RSAs have branches, are licensed, have sporting adjuncts and a Women’s Section. Each is managed independently of the RNZRSA by its own Executive Committee, whilst maintaining loyalty to the objects of the RNZRSA and the resolutions of National Council.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II is Patron of the RNZRSA and graciously conferred the appellation ‘Royal’ on the New Zealand Returned Services’ Association in June 2000.
