Apply to join the RSA

RSA welcomes new members.

Membership applications are invited from adults of all ages, who are either citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand or another Commonwealth country.

Men and women who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces or the NZ Police force may apply for ‘Returned’ or ‘Service’ membership.

Men and women without military service are welcome to apply to join as ‘Associate’ members.

As an RSA member:

You belong to a local RSA where companionship and activity can always be found. After a round of golf, game of snooker or bowls, relax with friends in the clubrooms, and enjoy a flutter on a gaming machine. Many local RSAs also have a family restaurant where you may invite guests to dine with you and enjoy hospitality at its best.

You are welcome at over 120 licensed RSAs throughout New Zealand, and are a part of a nationwide organisation with over 130,000 members.

You benefit when you travel in New Zealand from special accommodation rates reserved for RSA members. International travellers are welcome at affiliated service clubs in Australia, the UK, Canada and many more countries.

Applying for membership is easy!

1. Locate your local RSA. Click on the ‘Find an RSA’ button on this page, and find out which RSA is closest to your home.
2. Contact your local RSA. Street address, phone, fax and e-mail address (where applicable) are provided in the ‘Find an RSA’ directory.
3. Ask your local RSA for an application form and arrange to visit as a guest to meet members and see what facilities are on offer.
4. Make your application in the membership category appropriate to you by mailing your completed application form to the Secretary of your local RSA.
