The personal account of an infantryman, who served with 2NZEF in the
latter stages of the Italian Campaign during WWII, then was sent to Japan
as part of the 2NZEF contingent in 1946. A well-detailed account that
gives the reader insight into the day-to-day life at the front from the
battle for Faenza through to Trieste. The “Kiwi Tourist” exploits
following VE Day in Italy are well covered, as is the problems faced by
the 2NZEF as an occupational force in Japan.
