CRETE VETERAN NAMES WANTED
The Secretary of the New Zealand Battle of Crete Association Inc. is
compiling a list/database of all Crete Veterans still active today. Descendants
and friends of late Crete Veterans, who are interested in becoming members
of the above Association, are also asked to email/write Deirdre Hauschild
with details. This Association was formally The Western Bay of Plenty
Crete Veterans Assoc. which has now been reactivated and has increasing
numbers of new members from the NZ and Cretan/Greek community and Australian
contacts. We meet several times a year for luncheons and AGM (April),
the Battle of Crete Memorial Service; and a future plan will be to assist
in organising a Pilgrimage to Crete for the 70th Commemoration in May

CALLING ALL GUNNERS EX GUNNERS AND ATTACHED OTHER CORPS – MESSAGE
FROM THE HOROWHENUA ARTILLERY ASSOCIATION – LEVIN
The Association was formed in 1960. The membership consists of ex Second
World War gunners, those who served in Korea with the Regiment, Regular
Force Gunners, CMT and National Servicemen all of whom served the guns
during their service. Other members include servicemen and women who had
at sometime during their military career been attached to gunner regiments
or Batteries in the field in both Korea and Vietnam. eg. Gun Tiffies,
Signalmen, and Troopers from the Armoured Corp, Drivers/Cooks and Ordnance
Corp personnel who had been attached on posting to an artillery regiment
or unit in the field. Now coming into our 50th year of activities, we
are seeking new members. The Association meets twice a year in May and
September to celebrate Gunners Day and El Alemein Day for lunch at the
Levin RSA. If interested, you’ll be made most welcome. Please contact
