  Eighteen-year-old Ordinary Diver Louis Mercer has become the Devonport RSA’s youngest service member. Mercer had just completed basic common training with the RNZN, receiving the award for the most improved recruit. At a post-graduation celebration, Devonport RSA president Jimmy Jones presented him with his RSA badge and RSA membership through to December 2010. Mercer said he was very proud to become an RSA member. Devonport RSA is working on initiatives to develop its special relationship with the RNZN.

  Otaki & District RSA president Don Moselen (left) presents the Diggers’ Day Trophy to fellow club members (from left) Ali Mettin, John Brough and Gordon Perry. The Otaki threesome headed off a big complement of bowlers from the Wellington and Manawatu districts to win the 2010 Diggers Memorial Day tournament on their home greens.

  The dedication of 14 women has been recognised by the Marton RSA Women’s Section. Between them, the women totalled 309 years of service - five have been awarded life memberships and nine have received long-service awards. The awards were presented at the Christmas lunch attended by more than 50 members and partners.
